About Elizabeth Palmer
I've been drawing since I was 5 years old and my parents sponsored art shows for my siblings and I. Growing up, I had no TV so my primary form of entertainment was drawing and painting. I won my first art contest in the 4th grade, a cartoon created for a local bank. In grade school I attended drawing and painting classes at Rochester Museum of Art and in my teens I studied art history and Studio Art at Colby College. In 1990 I became interested in watercolor and oil painting, and began working towards an associates degree at the University of New Hampshire. I've participated in numerous workshops and exhibited in places such as the New England Center, Cafe Brioche, and the Children's Museum of Portsmouth. After moving to Maine in 2016, I began showing at Boothbay Regional Art Foundation, River Arts in Damariscotta, Maine, and Saltwater Artists Gallery in New Harbor, Maine. I enjoy both still life and landscape painting. I want the viewer to see, as I do, that beauty surrounds us at all times. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have about my work.
